Liquidation sales are underway at Payless Shoe Stores, which is now on track to close all 2,100 of its locations in the U.S. and Puerto Rico.
Company officials have said some stores will begin closing in March, but most will stay open until May. All in all, Payless has more than 3,600 stores in 40 countries, and about 18,000 employees.
In the Capital Region, Payless has stores at Crossgates, Colonie Center, Greenbush Commons, Wilton Mall, and in Johnstown.
