Syracuse Coach Jim Boeheim Kills Man Walking on I-690

A report Thursday morning from Syracuse.com says that Syracuse men's basketball coach Jim Boeheim struck and killed a man while driving on Interstate 690 around midnight.

Syracuse Police say that 51 year old Jorge Jimenez of Syracuse got out of a vehicle that crashed on 690 near Thompson road. Officers say that the vehicle was in the middle of the highway and that Boeheim tried to avoid the vehicle but hit the man standing on the side of the road.

Jimenez was transported to Upstate University Hospital where he passed away.

Police Investigators say that there is no indication that Boeheim or the other driver were impaired by drugs or alcohol.

In a game heard on WGY, Syracuse vs. Louisville ended around 9pm Wednesday night.
