Corrections Officer Michael Snyder has been arrested and charged with three counts of 3rd degree rape, sexual abuse and official misconduct after a female inmate at the Albany County Correctional Facility said that she was raped three times in the course of 10 to 11 days.
Albany County Sheriff Craig Apple says that the alleged assaults occurred when the female inmate was working. Apple also says that the officer knew where the security cameras were and he was able to hide his alleged actions.
Snyder has been a corrections officer at the facility for 19 years.
