Amsterdam police have arrested 20-year-old Nicholas Xaviar Smith of Albany in connection with last week's murder of Michael Cable and charged with him 2nd degree murder, among other charges.
37-year-old Michael Cable of Amsterdam was found bleeding on a sidewalk last Wednesday after police say he was shot inside his home. He died shortly later.
Police say home surveillance equipment belonging to Michael Cable was vital in identifying Smith as the suspect in this case.
A motive for the crime is still being investigated and Smith remains in custody with no bail. The murder weapon has not yet been located.
