Neighbor: Glens Falls Dad Walked Through Fire to Save Son

A GoFundMe has been started to help raise money for medical bills for a Glens Falls dad who literally walked through fire to save his son's life after their apartment caught on fire.

According to the Post Star, Matt Duval rescued his 3-year-old son on the afternoon of the 4th of July. A neighbor says Duval walked across a melting laminated floor and through fire that had engulfed a set of stairs.

Duval suffered extensive injuries and is at a burn center in Syracuse.

The boy was also injured but was mostly shielded by his father. He has been released from the hospital. The GoFundMe campaign is named "Help Lydia." Lydia is Duval's girlfriend and the boy's mother. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
