Car crashes into pedestrians in Green Island, killing one teen, injuring 3


Car damages at Green Island Crash Scene

One teen has died and three others are injured after a car struck a group of pedestrians in Green Island Saturday night. Multiple departments responded to 787/Cohoes Avenue at Tibbits Avenue just after 11 PM to find several teens that had been struck by a vehicle. Albany County Sheriff Craig Apple reports that a 17-year old male from Green Island was unresponsive and transported to Samaritan Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later. Of the other three teens taken to the hospital, one is listed in critical condition. The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing and names of the driver or victims have not been released.
