The City of Saratoga Springs is closely monitoring the spread of coronavirus and confirmed two cases of COVID-19 in Saratoga County on Saturday. The infected individuals are self-quarantined and are receiving support as needed from the city and county, the city said in a statement released Saturday afternoon.

The Times Union reports that the two individuals are a 57-year-old man and a 52-year-old woman.

Meanwhile, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo is declaring a state of emergency to help deal with the coronavirus outbreak. Cuomo said today the state has commissioned hundreds of tests with 76 cases of COVID-19 reported in New York and ten people currently hospitalized. Most of the confirmed cases are in Westchester County with eleven in New York City. The governor urged people under mandatory quarantine to comply with restrictions or face tougher measures. New York joins several other states that have already declared coronavirus emergencies.
