Governor Andrew Cuomo says the state's number of coronavirus cases continue on a daily upward trend, with 92,000 cases total, and more than 2,300 related deaths. Cuomo indicated concern with the number of new cases on Long Island, saying the disease continues to spread in suburban areas. All of the state's counties have now reported at least one case. The governor says more people are being discharged from the hospital, but that daily hospitalization rates continue to increase, although ventilator usage could possibly be plateauing.

Cuomo says experts expect a peak in terms of total patients sometime in the coming weeks. He adds that the diseases' spread could flatten out and then continue at a diminished speed sometime into the late summer. Efforts continue toward expanding hospital space, replenishing supplies, and bringing in additional healthcare personnel.
