Albany Man Arrested In Connection to Last Month's Riots in the City

An arrest has been made in connection to last month's riots in Albany.

24-year-old Ah-Juan Boyd of Albany allegedly set fire to a tractor trailer on May 30th after riots broke out in Albany over the death of George Floyd, an unarmed black man in police custody in Minneapolis.

Boyd and other rioters stopped a tractor trailer on South Pearl Street, removed the driver and set fire to the trailer as it was parked in the middle of South Pearl Street at Westerlo Street. Boyd is charged with Riot 1st (E Felony), Arson 3rd (C Felony) and Criminal Mischief 2nd (D Felony). Boyd was arraigned in the Albany City Criminal Court and released on his own recognizance.

Albany police say more arrests stemming from last month's riots are possible.
