Sacha Baron Cohen can pull a good prank, but his attempt with Rudy Giuliani almost got him arrested. The former New York City mayor and top adviser to President Donald Trump says he called the cops on Cohen when he tried to trick him into a spoof interview.
Giuliani thought things were legit on Tuesday when he arrived at the Mark Hotel in Manhattan on Tuesday, where he was going to be interviewed about the Trump administration’s response to COVID-19. Things started off normal with a female interviewer and a professional set-up… until Cohen busted in the room in a wild outfit, including a pink bikini.
Giuliani didn’t recognize the comedian, who came in “yelling and screaming,” so at that point Giuliani called the cops on the apparent “scam or shake-down.” There was no arrest, Cohen got away. “I only later realized it must have been Sacha Baron Cohen,” Giuliani adds. “I thought about all the people he previously fooled and I felt good about myself because he didn’t get me.”
