Troy Police say two of their officers were hurt yesterday trying to arrest a 21 year old.

Police say they were responding to a home on 4th Street Wednesday after getting a call from a woman who said her boyfriend, Ethan Jordan, was trying to get in to the house.

The woman told police he was acting violent and damaging property trying to get in to the home and she also told police that he had a gun in his car.

Police say Jordan was using a knife to try to get in the house and the woman told police that he was hitting his head on the wall trying to get inside.

As officers arrived, police say Jordan punched one officer in the face, and then bit and kicked him and tried to choke him, resulting in cuts to the officer's legs, neck, and hands.

Another officer got involved and hurt his hands in the process.

Police say both officers are expected to be okay.

Once Jordon was handcuffed and placed in a police cruiser, cops say he continued to act out and suffered an injury to his face.

Police say right now it's not clear if Jordan was on any drugs or if he has a condition that caused the erratic behavior.

Jordan is charged with felony assault on a police officer, among other charges.

He was arraigned and is at the Rensselaer County Sheriff's Office.
