Loudonville Man Arrested On Charges He Planned to "Ambush & Shoot Police"

A 20 year old Loudonville man is charged in connection with a domestic violence incident.

Colonie Police say that they learned that the man had planned to "ambush and shoot police" with a stockpile of illegal weapons that he had. Police respond to Clover Lane in Loudonville and say that Alexander Alomar threatened his girlfriend, threw her to the ground, spat in her face, and disabled her cell phone. During an interview with the victim, they learned that Alomar had a stockpile of weapons. A search warrant was signed by a judge and police found among the weapons, two illegal assault rifles, a 9 mm " ghost gun" and 4 loaded high capacity 223 magazines and a bulletproof vest. Alomar is facing numerous charges. He was arraigned and released under supervision of Albany County Probation.
