An Albany police officer is suspended without pay after making racist remarks that were caught on camera.

The Times Union first reported that Officer David Haupt, who has been on the force since 2016, used language that was offensive to African Americans. His words calling blacks “the worst f__ing race,” were recorded by a body camera being worn by a member of the Albany County Sheriff's office.

Chief Eric Hawkins called Haupt's comments some of the worst he has heard during his decades in law enforcement.
