The Capital Region has once again set a record for the number of new COVID-19 cases.

There were 345 additional infections announced Monday in the eight counties that make up the area. The previous high of 270 was set just last Monday. Saratoga County and Schenectady County contributed to the spike by breaking one-day records of their own. The latest surge is likely connected to gatherings where people aren't following the proper health and safety protocols.
