The initial doses of the coronavirus vaccine could be arriving in New York a bit earlier than first thought.

It was announced Thursday 170,000 doses may be shipped to the Empire State as soon as this weekend instead of December 15th. The first vaccines will be given to those most at risk of contracting the illness such as health care workers and nursing home residents. The Capital Region will receive about 7,800 doses.
