A combined effort by Albany County Executive Dan McCoy and Legislature Chairman Andrew Joyce should turn out to be a help to small businesses.

McCoy has signed an emergency executive order, which goes into effect this Friday, that will put a maximum cap of 15% on what third party food delivery companies can charge, Some companies currently charge up to 30 % for their services. The order will be renewed every five days until Joyce introduces the legislation. Joyce hopes the legislation will be passed by the end of the month. Elsewhere during Monday's COVID update, McCoy announced 154 new positive cases since Sunday, with one resident passing away from complications, for a total of 180 related deaths since the start of the pandemic. 86 people are hospitalized, with 11 new hospitalizations since Sunday, of the 86, there are 13 residents in ICU.
