January on Track to be Region's Deadliest Month of COVID-19 Crisis

The death toll due to COVID-19 continues to grow in the Capital Region and January is on track to be the deadliest month of the entire pandemic.

The number of people who have passed away over the last few weeks now sits at 257 while the overall tally is at 811. It took the eight-county area just 10 days to go from 700 total deaths to over 800. Albany County has seen the highest number of deaths with 296.
