The state Attorney General's office claims the number of nursing home residents who died due to COVID-19 has been underreported by health officials.

Investigators spent months looking into how long-term care facilities treated patients as the number of coronavirus infections grew. Attorney General Letitia James says it's important to know why these people suffered and to make sure nothing like this happens again. State Health Commissioner Doctor Howard Zucker criticized the AG's report, saying the implication deaths were undercounted is wrong.
