Two cases of the UK variant of the coronavirus have now been detected in Albany County.

County Executive Dan McCoy says the Health Department is investigating.

In early January, Governor Cuomo announced the first case of the UK strain in New York was found in an employee at N. Fox Jewelers in Saratoga County.

The UK strain is reportedly a more transmissible variant of the coronavirus.
