Long Island Republican Considering Run For Governor Against Andrew Cuomo

Long Island Republican Congressman Lee Zeldin is exploring a run for governor.

He tells WGY's Doug and Kelly he is no stranger to the Capital Region, including being an undergrad at UAlbany, followed by time at Albany Law School, and his Army Reserve Unit was based in Albany. Over the weekend, Zeldin released a statement accusing Governor Cuomo of lies, cover ups, bullying and abuse. Cuomo had said he was going to run for a fourth term, but those comments were made before the current controversies about him and his administration. Zeldin is a strong supporter of former President Trump, who lost the state of New York in the last presidential election.
