The state budget deadline is coming up soon, and it appears New York's finances are in better shape than first thought.

State Budget Director Robert Mujica said Monday that thanks to billions of dollars from the federal government and increased tax revenues, cuts proposed by Governor Cuomo are no longer needed. Now, members of the Legislature are calling for increased spending to support programs aimed at helping New York recover from the COVID-19 crisis. Lawmakers and the governor have until April 1st to reach a budget agreement on-time.
