The trial of a deli owner who is accused of brutally murdering one of his employees is expected to continue Thursday.

Prosecutors say Georgios Kakavelos was upset with 22-year-old Allyzibeth Lamont because she was planning to file a labor complaint against him for unpaid overtime. They also allege Kakavelos offered James Duffy money to beat Lamont to death with a baseball bat, but Kakavelos also joined the assault. Both men then dumped Lamont's body near the Northway in Malta. Duffy has already agreed to testify against Kakavelos, who could face life in prison if convicted.
