New York State is inching ever closer to having a 70% coronavirus vaccination rate among people 18 and older.

Right now, that number is at 69.1%, which is nine-tenths of a percent away from the benchmark where most COVID-19 restrictions are going to be lifted. Governor Cuomo says this continued progress is quite a turnaround from when the Empire State had one of the highest coronavirus infection rates in the country. He's still urging folks to protect themselves against the virus so another large outbreak can be prevented.
