One of Albany's biggest eyesores may soon have new owners. Two companies have placed sealed bids on the abandoned Central Warehouse building off Broadway. The Albany Business Review says Redburn Development of Schenectady and Columbia Development of Albany are the two companies to bid on the long abandoned property, though county officials won't confirm. No word on what the plans are for the building.
Current owner Richard Blum bought the building for $1 in 2017, but owes over $500,000 in back taxes on the building. He had hoped to renovate the structure and turn it into an art gallery.
