It happened a few weeks later than usual, but Albany Mayor Kathy Sheehan has revealed who will serve as the 2021 Tulip Queen.
The winner of the prestigious title is 21-year-old Ashanti Bishop of Latham. She, along with her four fellow court members, will be spending the next few months working on community service and literacy advocacy initiatives. Normally, the Tulip Queen is named during the Tulip Festival which is held Mother's Day weekend but an in-person coronation wasn't possible this year due to the COVID-19 crisis.
