The owner of Thai Thai Bistro in Niskayuna is some serious legal trouble after being indicted on labor trafficking and other charges.

The Schenectady County DA's office says Piyamas Demasi allegedly paid an employee off the books and promised to help her get permanent residency in the United States. However, Demasi eventually stopped paying the woman and demanded she pay $10,000 to cover the cost of the visa application. The Assistant District Attorney says this is the first labor trafficking case he's prosecuted during his over seven years in office.
