Village of Fonda Still Under State of Emergency Following Severe Flooding

The Village of Fonda remains under a state of emergency as cleanup continues there following severe flooding.

Several inches of rain fell in the area Monday, leading to homeowners having to pump out their basements and creating hazardous conditions for drivers. Officials say all of the roads that were closed down have reopened, but people are still being asked to stay home if possible. The mayor is also urging residents to wear masks outdoors to limit their exposure to dust and dirt being caused by drying mud.
