With New York's coronavirus infection rate nearing 3 %, Governor Cuomo is suggesting private businesses make COVID-19 vaccinations mandatory for employees and customers.
The governor also said Monday that school districts should make sure teachers get their shots before classes start next month. The New York State United Teachers union says it doesn't support vaccine mandates but would be on board with voluntary immunization with increased testing protocols. The governor has no control over the policies businesses and schools put in place since there isn't a state of emergency in effect.
