Employees at Albany Medical Center are going to have to roll up their sleeves and get themselves vaccinated against COVID-19.

The president and CEO said yesterday that physicians, nurses, College and support staff with clinical or nonclinical responsibilities need to get the vaccine by October 1st. Exemptions or deferrals may be approved on a limited basis, but workers who don't receive one or provide proof they have been immunized by the deadline will be fired. Officials believe making the vaccines mandatory is the best way to protect employees and staff from the virus.
