Governor Hochul has already made an announcement that will affect a lot of New Yorkers in the next few weeks.

On Tuesday, the governor said she's directing the state Department of Health to make mask wearing mandatory in all schools. Hochul says the goal is to prevent an outbreak of the virus in school buildings that could lead to students and staff getting sick. The governor also suggests districts create a COVID-19 vaccination policy that would give employees the option of not getting immunized but only if they agree to weekly testing for coronavirus.
