A federal judge has issued a temporary ruling involving a mandate that all health care workers in New York State get themselves vaccinated against COVID-19.

The judge said on Tuesday that the requirement can't be forced on people who seek or obtain a religious exemption. Last month, health care workers were ordered to be immunized by September 27th, but several health professionals filed a lawsuit claiming the mandate was a violation of their Constitutional rights because it didn't allow exemptions for religious reasons. The state has until September 22nd to respond to this ruling.
