Governor Hochul says she's looking to make it mandatory for more health care workers to be vaccinated against COVID-19.

As of this week, people who work at hospitals and nursing homes statewide must be immunized or risk possibly lose their jobs. However, employees at prisons and mental health facilities have been able to bypass that requirement by taking a weekly COVID-19 test. The governor said Thursday she's planning to put an end to that exception soon. Next week, the vaccination mandate goes into effect for employees of home health agencies, adult care facilities and hospice organizations.
