The Times Union Center in Albany will eventually be called something else. The newspaper announcing Wednesday it will not continue the naming rights for the arena when the deal expires this week. The building has been named the Times Union Center since January of 2007 after Pepsi gave up the naming rights it held since 1997 as the Pepsi Arena. Prior to that, it was known as the Knickerbocker Arena when it opened in 1990. No word yet on who may take over the naming rights.
