The investigation is still underway into what started a fire in Schoharie that left one person dead.
When crews arrived at the scene on Main Street Wednesday, they spotted heavy smoke and flames coming from the residence. Several fire departments from around the area were called in to help try and get the blaze under control. Officials haven't released the name of the person who lost their life. Another person who was in the home was able to escape and is being assisted by the American Red Cross.
