The Rensselaer County town of Petersburgh has reached a 23 million dollar settlement with Taconic Plastics over PFOA contamination in the town's water supply. This establishes funds for those effected by the chemical through water supplied by the town and to those on private wells. It also sets up a 15 year monitoring program for people who have elevated levels of PFOA in their blood.
