South Glens Falls And Ft. Edward Schools Will Not be Merging After Vote

A proposed merger of the South Glens Falls and Fort Edward school districts is not moving forward.

Votes by each district's school boards Wednesday night were held and while the South Glens Falls panel voted unanimously in favor of a merger, the measure failed in Fort Edward by a 5 to 4 tally. Had it passed both school boards, the issue would have gone before members of each community in the form of a referendum next month.
