The man who tossed an explosive device into a woman's vehicle in Schenectady will be spending over seven years in federal prison.

On Tuesday, a judge sentenced 43-year-old Joel Malek for throwing a Molotov cocktail into the back of the victim's vehicle on while it was parked at the corner of Paige Street and Hamilton Street in June 2020. Malek initially told officers that he was asleep at the time of the incident but later pleaded guilty to possessing a destructive device.
