Rensselaer's mayoral race is heading to a judge. The race between incumbent Republican mayor Mike Stammel and Democrat Rich Mooney is separated by less than a dozen votes, with Stammel holding a slight lead. State Police are investigating claims of voter fraud from residents who say absentee ballot requests were made on their behalf without them knowing. The counting of absentee ballots has been put on hold at least until Friday when a hearing is scheduled.
