Hochul Signs Legislation to Protect Sex Trafficking Victims

Governor Kathy Hochul is signing legislation aimed to expand protections for the LGBTQ+ community and victims of sex trafficking.

The Governor signed several pieces of legislation at New York City's LGBT Community Center, in honor of Transgender Awareness Week. The START Act protects victims of sex trafficking, labor trafficking, and forced prostitution who are convicted of offenses as a result of that trafficking. The Governor said as Americans continue to witness attacks against on LGBTQ rights and protections around the country, New York is once again declaring that it is a state for all.
