Governor Hochul says New York State will be offering scholarships to address the shortage of healthcare workers.

The Nurses For Our Future Scholarship program will cover tuition for 1,000 students to get nursing degrees at SUNY or CUNY schools. Hospitals have seen staffing levels fall for months and there are currently over 9,300 registered nurse positions open statewide. Students in the scholarship program can finish their degree programs on an either part-time or full-time schedule.
