Albany County Executive Dan McCoy and Schenectady County Manager Rory Fluman have issued a health advisory aimed at slowing the spread of COVID-19.

They're urging everyone to wear a mask while they're out in public regardless of their COVID-19 vaccination status. However, having a facial covering on isn't going to be mandatory due to the inability to enforce the rule. Both counties have seen an increase in coronavirus cases following the Thanksgiving holiday. Schenectady County announced the deaths of five more people due to COVID-19 Tuesday, while another Albany County resident has died after contracting the illness.
