The start of the upcoming Spring semester at the University at Albany has been pushed back by several days.

Classes were supposed to begin on January 19th, but instead they'll start on the 24th. School officials say their decision was made to mitigate the impact the omicron COVID-19 variant on the campus community and to allow students more time to secure a negative COVID-19 test and get a booster shot. Residence halls are schedule to reopen on January 21st at 9:00 am.
