Bethlehem police say they've finally closed a cold case that had been open for more than four decades.

Officials announced Thursday that the remains found near Elm Avenue Town Park in April 1981 were those of 41-year-old Franklin Feldman. Police say that Feldman was a transient and that his cause of death will likely never be known. Feldman was originally from Massachusetts and lived in New York for several years before he died. Police are crediting what they call modern investigative methods as the reason this case has been solved.
