Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer is pushing for Albany Nanotech to become the country's first semiconductor technology center.

Schumer toured the facility Monday with Governor Hochul and Don Graves who is the deputy secretary of the U.S. Commerce Department. Schumer praised Albany Nanotech for having both the partnerships and infrastructure already in place to serve as the National Semiconductor Technology Center. However, a final decision won't be made until Congress passes the U.S. Innovation and Competition Act.
