The Albany Police Department has released video of an officer-involved shooting that happened in the city earlier this week.

Monday's incident on New Scotland Avenue started after police were looking into a reported home invasion on Morris Street. During their investigation, they spotted 32-year-old Jordan Young next to his dog with a knife. Officers asked Young to drop the weapon, but he refused and later charged towards them leading to an officer opening fire. Young was taken to Albany Med for treatment of his injuries. Chief Eric Hawkins defended his officers' actions, saying they were under attack.
