Glenville Bridge Hit Again Days After DOT Installed Flashing Lights

Days after the state Department of Transportation installed flashing lights to warn drivers about its low height, a Glenville bridge has been struck once again.

The Glenridge Road span was hit Thursday by a tractor-trailer, which caused the top of the vehicle to get sheared off. The driver, 34-year-old Tim Parker, says he got confused because there are two bridges on the same stretch of road. He was ticketed by police and will have to pay a fine. The DOT recently announced a plan to put electronic detection devices in place warning drivers of the low bridge and that project will likely be completed sometime next year.
