Starting next week, the U.S. Department of Agriculture will be producing a pyrotechnic display in Albany in an attempt to scare off crows that have gathered in the city.
In addition to pyrotechnics, scientists will be using other non-lethal methods to get the birds to disperse including spotlights and recorded crow distress signals. City officials say the crows are a nuisance because of the noise they generate and the droppings they leave on sidewalks and buildings. The USDA will be working from February 15th through the 17th between the hours of 4:30 pm and 8:00 pm.
