Low-and-middle income New Yorkers who are struggling to stay warm this winter can still apply for another round of financial relief.

Governor Hochul says there is still $ 65-million in home heating aid available through the Home Energy Assistance Program. People with qualifying income who have already used up their regular HEAP benefit and first emergency benefit can receive this funding. Demand for assistance through HEAP has been high in recent months, with over $ 200-million in benefits being distributed since October. Applications are being accepted in-person at local departments of social services or by telephone.
