Triple A: Price of Gas Increases Significantly in Capital Region

Capital Region drivers are going to have to dig a lot deeper into their wallets when it comes time to fill up their vehicles.

According to Triple A, the average cost for a gallon of regular gas is $ 4.21. That's up a whopping 40 cents in the past week and is 60 cents more than this time one month ago. The state average is $ 4.21 a gallon while nationally it's an even $ 4.00.

With the price of gas going up seemingly each day, automotive experts have revealed some simple tips on how you can ease the pain at the pump. To use less fuel in your vehicle, keep your tires rotated and inflated to the recommended guidelines and make sure to drive at moderate speeds. Also, avoid excessive idling which can burn a large amount of gas and combine trips if you can. There are also apps available for download that will tell you the lowest gas prices in your area.
