Governor Hochul says the state Department of Transportation has recovered over $ 1.6 million for consumers from auto dealers and repair shops around New York.

The DMV helped people by recovering titles when dealerships closed without warning and assisted with getting folks refunds for poor repair work done to their vehicles. The DMV commissioner says the agency's Office of Vehicle Safety works hard to make sure people get the goods and services they pay for. The DMV will fine any dealers or shops who are found to be violating laws or regulations.
